The first time I heard about Newport Beach, I happened to be at work and was supposed to go there for training. I couldn’t even dream about any Newport Beach from a Boat Photo Diary back then. Only years later this coastal city in southern California revealed a completely different side to me.
Newport Beach – a Gem of southern California
I finally was able to see Newport Beach as a place full of great beaches and an old-school amusement park wit Ferris wheel. “The Wedge” – one of the best spots for surfing – also didn’t’ slip my attention. And of course, you can’t forget about the Ocean Front Walk – a popular boardwalk in the Newport Beach area. Yet still one thing is almost synonymous with the city. This place is responsible for today’s fame of Newport Beach and our Newport Beach from a Boat photo diary. I think I got a bit overdramatic here. It’s time to stop and say it simply. This place is nothing else than Newport Harbor.
Newport Beach from a Boat Photo Diary
Newport Harbor is the larges recreational harbor on the west coast. It offers a vast array of activities such as boat rides, paddleboarding, and wildlife watching. Newport Beach guests can choose different adventures from Ocean Explorer Cruises to private sunset excursions.
We picked a 2.5-hour whale-watching tour from Newport Beach. The description of the cruise baldly declared that we should’ve expected to see blue, gray, minke, finback, and humpback whales. From our 5-hour boat tour in Alaska, we knew that there is no guarantee when it comes to wildlife. Nevertheless, we took the whale-watching tour in Newport Beach. And indeed, only one whale waved at us with its fin from a far distance. None of the effort of the boat’s crew helped. Regardless of such so-called “misfortune”, we greatly enjoyed the tour.
